BBC Radio 1Xtra launches brand new podcast PRESSED with Mariam Musa, Nella Rose and Adeola Patronne
In a twelve-episode series, PRESSED will speak to Gen-Z weekly about what’s happening on the timeline and all things adulting as Mariam Musa, Nella Rose and Adeola Patronne unapologetically share their own thoughts and ask audiences what has them ‘pressed’ each week.
All three hosts and female-friendship goals Mariam, Nella and Adeola are full-time influencers, who have a combined social following of close to two million across social platforms. Across networks they have built a loyal fanbase who tune in weekly to keep up with what they have going on and more importantly what they have to say.
PRESSED will give fans and new listeners a unique opportunity to hear from the ladies on more pressing topics not usually spoken about by them, such as thriving as influencers and all of the unknown behind the scenes, social media and relationships, mental health vs physical health, how black women are viewed in society and so many other group chat topics in their most unfiltered talks yet.
Their influencer friends will also make surprise appearances throughout the series, while fans will have the chance to phone in and share what has them ‘pressed’ that week. In their most engaging format yet, Mariam, Nella and Adeola will share the gossip, give advice and as always provide the timeline with viral moments as they connect with their audience like never before.
Mariam Musa says: “I’m so grateful to be doing something like this with my girls! With all our different views and varying interests, our conversations are never boring! We can’t wait to come together and have a platform solely based on talking about topics and trends that we can share with our audience. We love our audience and we’re so happy that we decided to create something they can be involved in.”
Nella Rose says: “We’ve all been on YouTube and Instagram for years and whilst we still love it, we know our followers are exploring more platforms for content. Our audience means so much to us and we want to move with them and it definitely helps that podcasting gives us something other platforms don’t - no filter! Get ready for lots of laughter, unfiltered conversations and us voicing our opinion.”
Adeola Patronne says: “We have so much fun together especially when we create content. Being able to create content with my friends is something I love doing and we know that our audience love it too. There’s so much we discuss that doesn’t make YouTube for various reasons and it will be great for our subscribers to see all the other sides to us!”
